2023 Downtown Mardi Gras Parades

One of the benefits of living downtown at the Rivermark Centre is all the festivities! Whenever Mardi Gras season rolls around, you have a front-row seat to all the parade excitement. Looking for some information on all the downtown parades this Mardi Gras season? Well, look no further! We have the low-down on all the excitement to come. Click the name of each Krewe to learn more and view their parade routes!

 

The Krewe of Artemis

When: Friday, February 10th, 2023, at 7:00 pm

Where: Downtown Baton Rouge

What: “Revelers will be treated with themed throws, including the Krewe of Artemis’ signature High Heeled Shoe, along with footballs, light up tambourines, stuffed animals, float beads, and lighted throws.”

 

Krewe Mystique de Capitale 

When: Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at 2:00 pm

Where: Begins at River Road and Government Street

What: “Celebrating 45 years of parading in Baton Rouge! Come out and see the oldest Mardi Gras Krewe that is family-oriented and fun for all ages. At the core of Krewe Mystique’s rich heritage is the special bond established between our members, developing into friendships that last a lifetime.”

 

Krewe of Orion

When: Saturday, February 11th, 2023 at 6:30 pm

Where: St. Philip Street, Baton Rouge, LA 70802

What: “Parade goers will be treated to a line of exciting, colorfully-lighted, and tractor-pulled floats.  On the floats, masked and costumed riders will throw plenty of themed parade medallions, Krewe of Orion signature footballs, cups, plush items, Orion doubloons, lighted throws, and beads. Marching bands, dance groups, and marching units (all 20 members or more) will be among the great sights and sounds of this wonderful family-oriented parade.”

 

Spanish Town

When: Saturday, February 18th, 2023 at 12:00 pm

Where: River Road

What: “Come out and celebrate with the most colorful Mardi Gras parade in town. Spanish Town paints Baton Rouge pink for this quirky parade that celebrates one of our oldest neighborhoods. (some content and themes may not be appropriate for children)”
